April 2026

Travelling This Month?

Heads-up info for April travellers across our cities.

Paris

Easter closures: Metro 4 & 14 shut down

Metro lines 4 and 14 are both fully closed over Easter weekend (3–7 April) for maintenance works. RER B and RER C also have partial interruptions — allow extra time and check Île-de-France Mobilités before you travel.

Barcelona

Airport strike over Easter (2–6 April)

Ground handling workers at El Prat are striking over Easter, causing flight delays and cancellations. City metro and buses run as normal — the disruption is at the airport, not in town.

Rome

Easter crowds & reduced services

Millions of visitors descend on Rome for Holy Week. Metro station Colosseo closes early on Good Friday (3 April) due to the papal Via Crucis procession. Buses and metro run on a reduced holiday schedule on Easter Sunday and Monday.

Stockholm

Running smoothly — art & culture events

No strikes or major disruptions expected. Stockholm Art Week (21–26 April) and Culture Night (18 April) will draw crowds — the Tunnelbana handles it easily. One flat fare gets you anywhere in the region.

London

Tube strikes: 21–22 and 23–24 April

RMT members are striking on 21–22 and 23–24 April. Severe disruption from midday on strike days — the Elizabeth line runs as normal. Check the TfL Go app before you travel.

Berlin

BVG strike resolved — back to normal

The months-long BVG labour dispute is over — a deal including an average 15% pay rise was agreed in late March. No further strikes are announced. U-Bahn, trams and buses are running normally again.
